Madonna's younger brother, Christopher Ciccone, has tragically passed away at the age of 63. The siblings had a close working relationship throughout Madonna's illustrious career, but their bond was strained in 2008 following the release of Christopher's revealing book 'Life with My Sister Madonna'.

His passing comes shortly after their stepmother, Joan Clare Ciccone, lost her battle with an aggressive form of cancer on September 24. Christopher made his mark in the industry as a designer, artist and director, organising concert tours, music videos and films.

A friend close to Christopher shared: "He was an extremely talented man with a wicked sense of humour."

Christopher was perhaps Madonna's closest sibling, kickstarting his career as her assistant, stylist and artistic director. As Madonna began to make waves in the music industry, Christopher was always by her side.

However, their relationship wasn't without its challenges, particularly after he penned a tell-all book discussing his strained relationship with Madonna's then-husband Guy Ritchie. In the book, Christopher claimed that Ritchie "drove at him" and confessed they "never got along", reports the Mirror.

He also alleged that the singer's relationship with Guy signified the "death knell for my relationship with her." He further described the Material Girl star as a "middle class girl who propagates the story that she landed in Time Square with just a pair of ballet shoes and $35 to her name."

He didn't stop there, as he suggested her narrative is "pure mythology and the further she progresses, the more mythological her life story becomes."

Christopher is said to have battled substance abuse, which Madonna attempted to assist with by paying for his rehab. However, their relationship appeared to reach an impasse after he was dismissed as her tour director in 2003.

In a dramatic twist, he wrote a tell-all book 'Life With My Sister Madonna', which hit the shelves in 2008.
