Prince Harry has spoken candidly about the emotional turmoil he faced after the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, revealing that he was left feeling so broken that he ended up curled up on the floor in a foetal position.

In the Netflix series Heart of Invictus, the Duke of Sussex opened up about his struggles with mental health, sharing that he lacked a support system within the Royal family to help him cope with his grief.

He recalled how his experiences in Afghanistan triggered unresolved childhood traumas, leading to a long and difficult journey with mental health issues.

Harry expressed regret for not seeking help sooner, saying: "Unfortunately, like me, the first time you really consider therapy is when you're lying on the floor in the foetal position, probably wishing that you'd dealt with some of this stuff previously. And that's what I really want to change."

He also spoke about the pain of losing his mother at a young age, stating: "Losing my mum at such a young age caused trauma that was never addressed."

"I suppressed those feelings and, like many young people, never really spoke about them. But when it all came fizzing out, I was overwhelmed, feeling everything rather than being numb."

The documentary series provided an exclusive glimpse behind the scenes at the 2022 Invictus Games in the Netherlands, attended by Harry and Meghan, reports Gloucestershire Live.

It celebrates the remarkable journeys of the participants while delving into the extensive preparations required to organise such an event, a project Prince Harry has passionately supported since its inception in 2014.
