Married At First Sight UK's Peggy Rose has spoken out about her heartbreaking split from Georges Berthonneau, claiming that fame "went to his head". The pair seemed set to outlast Tasha Jay and Paul Liba from the previous season of MAFS, but after the E4 show ended, Georges decided to end their brief marriage, leaving Peggy devastated.

However, the 32 year old has now disclosed that their relationship was destined to fail as Georges became infatuated with fame, and she "went through hell" following their separation. She revealed that cracks in their marriage began to show in December last year, just a few weeks after the MAFS finale aired, and Peggy was concerned when Georges "started acting really weird around Christmas ".

Despite her instincts telling her to leave, she chose to stay with him. "Boys like attention, especially when boys haven't had the attention before. I feel they get a bit big headed," she told The Sun.

"He even said to me on the show that he's been sexually desired by all his ex-girlfriends. Who says that? " She remained with Georges and they travelled to Paris, the city of love, to celebrate her birthday in January this year. However, their sex life took a hit, and she admitted it "didn't feel the same" as Georges wasn't interested in getting intimate, which led Peggy to suspect "something's happened".

Peggy, a star from Married at First Sight UK, has opened up about her tumultuous relationship with Georges. The couple split in January, but Peggy was left puzzled when Georges didn't want to announce their break up publicly due to his fear of public opinion and attention, reports the Mirror.

Despite issuing a joint statement confirming their split, Peggy was left heartbroken on Valentine's Day when she discovered evidence of Georges' infidelity. She received messages, including photos and videos, showing Georges on dates with another woman in December.

"You can't cheat on someone and expect to get away with it," she said. "I was heartbroken. I remember crying my eyes out."

Peggy also revealed that her family had grown fond of Georges and trusted him, leaving her feeling guilty for letting them down.

However, reflecting on the break-up, Peggy now believes it was "the best thing that's ever happened". She is currently in a relationship with a new man who shares her values.

"He's just a normal guy, he's not a millionaire," she said, adding that unlike Georges, her new partner also wants children. "I was willing to stay with Georges, even though he said he didn't want kids and kids are a big thing for me... I just hope he's the one," she added.

Georges refuted the accusations of infidelity and oddly claimed that Peggy was "hand-delivering Christmas presents to her ex-boyfriend". He expressed his frustration, stating: "I never cheated on her, it was her actions that pushed me away - the actions we all saw on the show; gaslighting, manipulation, constantly putting me down. It's boring now."
