Princess Eugenie has shared a touching insight into how her two young sons, August and Ernest, are reacting to the news of a new baby cousin on the horizon. This comes after Princess Beatrice, Eugenie's sister, announced she is expecting her second child.

Beatrice first broke the news of her expanding family earlier this month, with Eugenie expressing her joy in a social media post. Now, just days after the announcement, Eugenie has opened up about how her own children are adjusting to the news.

Speaking to HELLO!, Eugenie confessed that her three year old and one year old aren't yet aware of their impending cousin, but she believes August may notice the change soon. "I haven't got that far yet," says the Princess.

"I think maybe Augie will see the tummy growing and realise but no, they don't get it. Just yet.", reports the Mirror.

While her own children may not fully grasp the significance of a new baby in the family, one person who is thrilled is Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, mother to Eugenie and Beatrice. "Mum's funny, because she loves her grandchildren so much but you can just see this pride for her two daughters," explained Eugenie.

"She's like 'my babies! ' When you become a granny you have the pride for the baby and your baby, you know? She's got a double whammy there."

On October 1, Buckingham Palace delighted Royal enthusiasts with the announcement that Princess Beatrice is expecting her second child with Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi early in the new year, a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna. The Palace's statement read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna."

It also noted: "His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."

Celebrating the moment, the couple shared two charming photographs, giving a glimpse of their happy and growing family as they await the arrival of their new member.
