Strictly Come Dancing fans have sussed out Amy Dowden's situation for the forthcoming series, after spotting a multitude of hints.
Following her urgent dash to hospital last Saturday amid the live performance, professional dancer Amy will be temporarily replaced by newcomer Lauren Oakley, who is set to team up with Amy's celebrity partner JB Gill in the upcoming weekend show.
Viewers were quick to express their joy as Lauren hinted at her absence from Strictly over the weekend, Birmingham Live reports. The dancer teased her plans on Instagram, writing in her stories: "Guys! It's been a bit busy..." and added, "BUT I'm still teaching my class THIS Sunday and would love to see you there.."
A spokesperson for Strictly Come Dancing assured fans, saying: "Amy is doing much better. She is delighted that Lauren is able to step in for rehearsals and to perform in Saturday's show for JB Gill's Couple's Choice dance."
They continued: "We are all hopeful that Amy will be back to dance with JB next week." After an alarming incident post-9pm on Saturday at the Hertfordshire-based studio, details have now emerged regarding the medical emergency.
According to a spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service: "We were called just after 9pm on Saturday to attend a medical emergency at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. An ambulance was sent to the scene. One patient, an adult female, was transported to Barnet Hospital for further care."
