ScotRail services to and from Inverness have been cancelled after an oil spillage on the line.

The train company posted an announcement on X around 10.15pm tonight to advise of the disruption.

The statement said: “We have an oil spillage in the Inverness area affecting our trains to/from Inverness. Train services running to and from this station will be cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.”

The line closure comes after Storm Bert forced the cancellation of 10 trains between Inverness and Elgin after speed restrictions were brought in on Saturday.
