The former One Direction star reportedly fell from the third floor of the hotel, where he was staying with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, and suffered "very serious injuries incompatible with life."

The late singer, born in Wolverhampton, was found dead just after 5pm local time after staff heard a loud noise in the hotel courtyard. Local media reports that Liam "had to be carried back to his room" after "acting erratically in the hotel lobby and smashing his laptop" before the tragic incident.

The dad-of-one, was best known for being one fifth of One Direction who found fame in 2010 after appearing on The X Factor, when judge Simon Cowell placed him in a band with Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan.

His sudden death has broken hearts all over the world as the celebrity tributes have poured in for the late singer.

Olly Murs, who is known to be a good friend of the One Direction boys throughout their fame, led tributes as he shared a snap of him laughing beside Liam, writing: "The news is devastating, am lost for words, we always had a good laugh when we saw each other, sometimes the catch ups were only short and sweet but when we did it was mostly about how annoyingly good his hair always looked, or our love for Becks, the old XF days and the tour we shared together."

He added: "Liam shared the same passions as me, the same dreams so to see his life now and so young hits hard, I'm truly gutted and devastated for his family and of course his son Bear losing a dad x"

Former X-Factor host Dermot O'Leary, posted an old snap of the pair on stage together when Liam appeared on the ITV talent show where he first found fame.
