King Charles' blunt six-word response to Vanessa Feltz left her 'baffled and concerned'

Vanessa Feltz has revealed that she has been in the company of King Charles on two separate occasions - and the second time he had an extremely blunt response for her.

Vanessa Feltz was left feeling both confused and concerned by a six-word response from King Charles during their last encounter.

The 62 year old radio presenter and former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant reflected on the two occasions she had met the monarch, with the initial meeting going smoothly as he asked the typical questions like "He said the usual, you know, 'How far have you come? Do you work nearby? '" Vanessa revealed to the Mirror while discussing her new book, 'Vanessa Bears All'.

However, the second time they met in 1994 was different, and his reaction puzzled her. "But the second time I met him, in 1994, he just went: 'Oh. Vanessa. Vanessa, Vanessa, Vanessa, Vanessa.' I just thought, 'What? What have I done anyway? What do you mean, for god's sake? ' I couldn't say that, of course! He wasn't the king then, he was only Prince Charles."

Even after three decades, Vanessa is still bemused by what seemed like disappointment from the now-king.

She recounted with laughter, "I don't know what I'd done! " but also expressed a sense of connection saying, "I think he sounded just like my mum, it was very familiar. I thought, 'He gets me. He absolutely gets me'."

Beyond this unsettling Royal interaction, Feltz fondly remembers another brush with royalty — Sarah Ferguson, then-Duchess of York, inadvertently gave Vanessa’s career a 'rollicking' start following the scandal where Ferguson was photographed with her toes being sucked by her 'financial advisor' John Bryan during a holiday in St Tropez, reports the Mirror.

"I do know Fergie, I've met her lots and lots of times," Vanessa remembered. "She's always very friendly and nice. And slightly too confiding; you think: 'God, did she mean to say that?' It's a little alarmingly disarming. You think: 'Is she protecting herself? Is anyone looking after her? Why is she saying all of that? ' In a nice way, though, not in a bad way. In a good way."

The Texan billionaire Bryan was caught by a paparazzo kissing and sucking the Duchess' toes and the arch of her foot.

They were then spotted kissing and frolicking in the pool, while two year old Princess Eugenie watched on. This scandal was one of the biggest to hit the Royal family in decades, making the front page of several newspapers.

It was just five months since Fergie and Andrew had announced their separation, and the pictures were published after Sarah had flown home and was staying at the Queen's Scottish retreat Balmoral with the rest of the family. Vanessa had penned an article about the toe-sucking antics for a national women's magazine, expanding it to explore other obscure erogenous zones - including the pate of a bald man's head.

Her piece grabbed the attention of researchers at This Morning, who rang her asking if she would come on air with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan to discuss it. Days later, she was on her way to the studio - and has been part of the ITV family ever since.

"Certainly I'm grateful to Fergie because an article that I wrote about her toe-sucking was the springboard that got me into television," Vanessa expressed with a grin. "And that was the launch of a television career that goes on to this day. I'm still on This Morning, all these years later. So thank you, Fergie! ".
