‘The Land of Nod’ – ‘Skinamarink’ Director Teams With A24 for Next Horror Movie

by · Bloody Disgusting

The director of last year’s viral hit Skinamarink, Kyle Edward Ball is next joining forces with A24 for a new horror movie titled The Land of Nod, Variety has announced this morning.

Variety notes in their exclusive report, “Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Ball will write and direct the project, which will be released globally by A24.”

Producers include Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush and Josh Safdie under their production banner Central Pictures; SpectreVision’s Lawrence Inglee, Daniel Noah and Elijah Wood; as well as Tatiana Bears and Bruno Vernaschi Berman. Theo Vieljeux will executive produce.

Kyle Edward Ball’s experimental indie Skinamarink proved quite divisive to audiences but managed to break through into the mainstream conversation in a way that most low-budget movies are never quite able to. The $15,000 film was even released on the big screen by IFC Films at the beginning of last year, scaring up a hugely impressive $2 million at the box office.

In the Shudder Original horror movie, “Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished.”
