Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 continues to break records and make headlines on the road to Halloween, and this latest headline is one of the biggest the franchise has made to date.

With a worldwide box office of $55.1 million at the time of this article being written, Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 is now officially the highest grossing unrated movie OF ALL TIME!

Leone tweets, “Terrifier 3 crosses $50M at the worldwide box office and officially becomes the highest grossing unrated film, even surpassing the highest grossing NC-17 films.”

Here in the United States, the Bloody Disgusting & Cineverse release has scared up $44.5 million at the box office thus far, slaughtering the $10.9 million domestic take for Terrifier 2.

Worldwide, Leone’s Terrifier 2 ended its run with $15.7 million back in 2022, a number the Christmas-themed sequel slashed through in its domestic opening weekend alone.

Interesting to note, the previous record holder for an unrated movie at the box office was the concert film Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, which broke the record with its unrated release just last year. The film ended its run with $33 million domestically, $43 million worldwide.

Art the Clown will continue hanging around in theaters right into the holiday season, with details on the physical media release and SCREAMBOX premiere coming soon. For now, the only way to experience Terrifier 3 is by purchasing a ticket to see it on the big screen.
