Kevin Bacon Shares His Top 20 Favorite Horror Movies for Halloween

Everyone’s got horror on the mind as we inch closer to Halloween, and that list of “everyone” most definitely includes Kevin Bacon, who has damn sure made his mark on the horror genre over the years. From appearing in the original Friday the 13th to starring in this year’s MaXXXine, Bacon’s horror pedigree is strong – and he’s a genre fan through and through.

Bacon notes in one of the bonus features for MaXXXine, “I’m a huge horror film fan.” And he’s building on that statement over on Twitter today, sharing some of his personal favorites.

“I love October because it’s all about apples and leaves changing and pumpkins, but it’s also about horror movies,” he begins the video. “So here are 20 of my favorite horror movies in no particular order.” The list naturally includes some films the Bacon family has appeared in, including Stir of Echoes, MaXXXine and Smile, but it’s also loaded with classics and recent hits from the likes of Jordan Peele, Ari Aster, Geroge A. Romero, Robert Eggers, and James Gunn, along with international films including Audition, Martyrs, and Let the Right One In.
