CARCASSONNE, July 7 : Dane Mads Pedersen powered to victory with a dominant sprint in stage four of the Tour de France on Tuesday, taking the first win for Lidl-Trek in this year's race and leading home teammate Quinn Simmons in a one-two finish.
Spain's Raul Garcia Pierna (Movistar) took third place after the gruelling 181.9-km (113.03-mile) hilly ride from Carcassonne to Foix. Frenchman Kevin Vauquelin launched a late attack and dive-bombed the final corner in an attempt to snatch victory, but was unable to overhaul Pedersen in the run to the line.
