The Nobel Prize for literature is to be announced just minutes from now, but the internet knows or rather has predicted who will be winning the prestigious award in 2024. As the Physics and Chemistry Nobel Prizes had a hint of Artificial Intelligence (AI), so the internet has decided the winner on that basis. With the extreme rise of OpenAI's prompt-based chatbot model ChatGPT, the internet thinks that this year's Nobel Prize for literature should be given to ChatGPT. The 2024 Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry highlighted groundbreaking work in artificial intelligence.

John Hopfield of Princeton and Geoffrey Hinton, often called the "godfather of AI," received the Nobel Prize in Physics 2024 for contributions that laid the foundation for modern AI technologies.

The Chemistry Nobel was awarded to Demis Hassabis and John Jumper from DeepMind, alongside David Baker, a US biochemist. Their use of AI to decipher nearly all known protein structures was pivotal in advancing the understanding of biology.

NOBEL PRIZE IN LITERATURE 2024

The Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded 116 times to 120 laureates from 1901 to 2023, with a notable gender disparity—103 men and only 17 women receiving the honour. Unlike other Nobel Prize categories, no individual has ever won the prize twice, and it has been shared by two recipients only four times. 

According to the Nobel Prize website, the Nobel Prize in Literature 2024 will be announced on Thursday, October 10, at 4:30 pm IST.

The Nobel Foundation oversees the selection of laureates across various fields through collaborations with specific organizations.
