Just moments after MediaTek took the wraps off its highly anticipated Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, Vivo officially confirmed that its next-generation flagship will be the first to bring the silicon to market. Through a newly released joint promotional campaign, the two tech giants detailed a deep, chip-level collaboration designed to push the boundaries of mobile cinematography and display technology.

The upcoming Vivo X500 Pro series is positioned as a powerhouse for content creators, bypassing standard smartphone capabilities to offer professional-grade filmmaking tools and highly optimized display architecture directly on the device.

Chip-Level Display Optimization

At the core of the Dimensity 9600 Pro is an advanced dual super-large-core CPU design. However, the partnership between MediaTek and Vivo extends far beyond raw processing power.

The two companies have co-engineered a hardware-level feature called AP Demura 2.0 correction. This highly specialized technology is designed to mitigate uneven brightness across the screen directly at the silicon level. Vivo confirmed that this optimization is specifically tailored to drive the stunning 2K display equipped on the top-tier Vivo X500 Pro Max.

Cinema-Grade Videography in Your Pocket

For mobile videographers, the integration of the Dimensity 9600 Pro introduces a suite of tools traditionally reserved for dedicated camera rigs.

To tackle the challenge of capturing high-speed action, the chip features AP-level multi-frame motion smear compensation, effectively eliminating blur when tracking fast-moving subjects. More impressively, the Vivo X500 series will offer native, professional Log video support. Filmmakers will be able to shoot 4K video at a blistering 120 frames per second with a 10-bit Log output—all processed internally without the need for a bulky external recorder.

The Blueprint Imaging Advantage

To push these photographic boundaries even further, Vivo is pairing MediaTek’s new silicon with its own proprietary Blueprint imaging chip.

According to Vivo, this dual-processor setup achieves an industry first: the ability to record 4K Dolby Vision portrait video. Additionally, the company is debuting XDZ, a cutting-edge, high-magnification video upscaling technology designed to retain crisp details even at extreme zoom ranges.
