Linkin Park’s ‘Numb’ Is In The Middle Of A Huge Week On The Charts
by Hugh McIntyre · ForbesLinkin Park is headed for a huge debut on music charts all around the world in a few days. The band’s comeback album From Zero dropped on Friday (November 15), and it launches as one of the most highly anticipated projects of the year. Several singles only further increased excitement for the title, and now that it’s out in the world, it appears to be both selling and streaming extremely well.
Before From Zero and its new tunes impact the Billboard charts, it seems that Linkin Park fever has already reached Americans. The band’s name can be found all over the weekly rankings of the biggest and most popular tunes and albums, and one of their oldest singles is enjoying another huge frame—likely right before it’s pushed down by fellow incoming Linkin Park cuts.
“Numb” can be found on two Billboard lists this week. It’s steady on one of them—and almost running the show—while it also returns to another roster.
Linkin Park’s smash keeps at No. 2 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart this time around. That’s the tune’s all-time peak, which it reached only about a month ago—many years after it was first promoted to single status.
The only track keeping Linkin Park’s “Numb” from finally hitting No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs list? Another beloved composition from the same band. “In the End” is a non-mover atop the streaming-only roster, meaning the band owns the highest two spaces at once.
As it nearly conquers the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, “Numb” is also back on another, similar list. The hard rock smash finds its way to the Alternative Streaming Songs ranking again, where it lands at No. 23. That’s not close to its peak, though, as it once climbed all the way to No. 9.

It’s likely that in a little more than a week, both “Numb” and “In the End” will be replaced on the charts they appear on at the moment, or at least forced downward. Tunes that appear on From Zero will likely dominate many of Billboard’s rock, alternative, and especially hard rock charts. Several of the singles from the project, such as “The Emptiness Machine,” “Over Each Other,” “Heavy is the Crown,” and the latest song from the set, “Two Faced,” will rank very high, as sales and certainly streams of the cuts should soar.
