Beyoncé Delays January 14 Announcement Due To L.A. Fires — What It Could Be
by Monica Mercuri · ForbesThe BeyHive has been buzzing in recent weeks after Beyoncé revealed that she had a big announcement planned for January 14, 2025. However, the superstar postponed her news today, citing the devastating Los Angeles fires.
At midnight on January 14, the 43-year-old performer took to Instagram to announce that the anticipated reveal would be delayed to a later date.
“The January 14 announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles. I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community,” she said.
“The BeyGOOD LA Fire Relief Fund has donated $2.5 million to directly support families who lost their homes and community organizations at the forefront of relief. Please join us in supporting with whatever you can,” she added in the caption.
The countdown to January 14 kicked off when the singer headlined Netflix’s Christmas Day football game halftime show a few weeks earlier. Following her performance, she posted a video of herself riding a horse and waving an American flag, ending with a graphic that read “1.14.25.”

When Is Beyoncé’s New January 14 Announcement Release Date?
Beyoncé and her team have yet to announce a new date for the postponed reveal originally scheduled for January 14. The singer posted on social media that the announcement will come “at a later date,” likely after the situation in Los Angeles improves.
Beyoncé isn’t the only artist adjusting her plans due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, which have caused significant disruptions across the entertainment industry. The Weeknd recently delayed the release of his album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, and canceled his concert at the Rose Bowl.
The Critics’ Choice Awards and the Screen Actors Guild nominations have been postponed, and the release date for Meghan Markle’s Netflix series has been pushed back. Popular TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Abbott Elementary have also paused production as the fires continue to affect the region.
What Was Beyoncé Planning To Announce?
It is still unclear what Beyoncé planned to announce on January 14, but there is much speculation that the news could involve new music, a tour, or even a visual project. Here are some ideas:
- A New Album — Act III: Billboard reported that before the full release of Renaissance, Beyoncé posted a note on her website referring to her latest endeavor as a “three-act project.” If we consider Cowboy Carter as the second act, this implies there may be a third and final project to complete the trilogy.
- Tour: Rumors are circulating that Beyoncé might be preparing to tour again, this time to perform her Cowboy Carter music live. If she releases a new album beforehand, the tour could also feature tracks from that project, too.
- Cowboy Carter / Beyoncé Bowl Documentary: Given her history of releasing behind-the-scenes films like Homecoming, Beyoncé might announce a documentary detailing the making of Cowboy Carter or her groundbreaking Beyoncé Bowl halftime performance, potentially on Netflix.
- Visual Album or Short Film: Beyoncé is well-known for her innovative visual storytelling, from Lemonade to Black Is King. She may be ready to release a visual companion to Cowboy Carter or even a standalone short film.
Billboard floated other theories, including the release of the lead single from a potential Act III album, the launch of her own country music festival, an appearance at the 2025 Houston Rodeo, a residency featuring Cowboy Carter, and a deluxe edition of Cowboy Carter.
