Dalyce Curry, ‘Blues Brothers’ Actress, Dies In The L.A. Wildfires
by Marc Berman · ForbesRetired actress Dalyce Curry has died in the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. She was 95 and her remains were found days after the fire destroyed her Altadena property.
“About an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE 🕊️,” Curry’s great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, wrote on Facebook on Sunday, January 12. “We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.”
According to reports, Kelley dropped her grandmother - fondly known as “Momma D” - off at her house on Tuesday evening around midnight. The next morning she rushed to the area to check on her grandmother and was stopped at a barricade and told by a police officer that her home had totally burned down.
Kelley was told to look for her grandmother at the Pasadena Civic Center, where displaced residents were being sent, but she was unable to find her.
In addition to The Blue Brothers, Dayce Curry also appeared in films such as The Ten Commandments and Lady Sings the Blues.
As of Sunday, January 12, at least 24 people were reported dead in the Los Angeles area amid the fires.
