Dekoni Audio already makes one of the world’s widest ranges of premium replaceable earpads for popular headphone models from brands like Audeze, Beyerdynamic, HiFiMAN, Meze, Sony and others. I guess it was only a matter of time before the brand turned its attention to making replacement headphone cables for upgrading sound or making it easier to switch headphones with different terminations.

Using newly developed MCS Technology, Dekoni Audio Ensemble cables include a mechanism that makes it easy to switch between sources and headphone types. If you already own several pairs of headphones, then that also means multiple cables with different terminations or jack plugs on the end.

Dekoni’s Audio Ensemble cables are made up of two parts. The top part connects to the headphones using the necessary termination whether that be the dual two-pin connector used on Sennheiser’s HD600, or dual 3.5mm and dual four-pin Mini-XLR are also currently available. All the top sections have a Y-split and this is the part of the cable that doesn’t need to be swapped because the bottom part of the cable takes care of the rest.

Dekoni Audio’s balanced 2.5mm locking connector can be attached to a few lower cable options depending on how long a cable you want and what you wish to plug it into. The cables are available in two lengths—52 inches and 64 inches—and with 4.4mm and 6.35mm terminations. The Ensemble cable system is compatible with the most popular headphone amps and digital audio players.

Audiophiles and headphone enthusiasts will appreciate being able to switch headphones without needing to switch cable at the headphone end. This way they can seamlessly move between different pairs of headphones without needing to switch cables at the headphone end or use any cumbersome adapters. Each source can be equipped with its cable, ready to connect instantly to the user’s preferred pair of headphones.

The Ensemble system is likely to also appeal to record producers and studio engineers. The ability to switch between varying cable lengths and terminations makes moving between mixing, editing and recording easier than ever. Whether adjusting for distance in the studio or swapping between devices, the Ensemble system makes it easier to switch tasks while eliminating cable clutter.

Two cable options are available for the Dekoni Audio Ensemble system. Dekoni Audio says it has spent a lot of time testing and listening to find the best materials for its Ensemble Blue Nylon cable. Covered in a blue and highly durable woven nylon jacket, the cable adds color and energy to a pair of headphones.

For the Ensemble Silver Braided cable, Dekoni Audio has used silver-plated copper for ultimate audio quality. The dual-twisted, braided, helix design has a premium look. Dekoni says the silver-plated copper wire enhances audio with increased detail, impact and soundstage performance.

Tal Kocen is the COO of Dekoni Audio: “With our Dekoni Ensemble Cable System, the days of tangled cables and spaghetti piles are over. If you have multiple pairs of headphones this is exactly what you've been waiting for.”

Pricing & Availability: The Dekoni Audio Ensemble modular cables will be available to pre-order on September 27 and priced at $119.98 – $164.98.
