6 detained for inciting sectarian unrest in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 15: The police in Srinagar have taken strict action against six individuals for making derogatory remarks, charging them under sections 126 and 170 of the BNSS. The accused have been detained at Central Jail, Srinagar, for allegedly inciting sectarian unrest through their remarks.

A video circulating on social media depicted the individuals using offensive language, which led to their arrest. The police issued a stern warning to the public, stating that anyone engaging in similar unlawful activities, including sharing or posting content aimed at creating division or disturbing public harmony, will face similar consequences. The police emphasized their commitment to maintaining peace and harmony, urging the public to refrain from any actions that could incite sectarian tensions.
