93% Revenue Records Digitized Across J&K: Official Data
by Northlines · NorthlinesJAMMU, May 13: Jammu and Kashmir has achieved 93.39 per cent digitisation of revenue records, with over 64 lakh khasras approved across the Union Territory, according to official data.
Out of a total 68,59,915 khasras, approvals have been granted for 64,06,641, while 3,04,549 cases are pending at the maker level, 1,10,587 with checkers and 38,138 at the approver stage.
Officials said the digitisation drive is a flagship reform under the land records modernisation programme aimed at improving transparency, accuracy and efficiency in land management. Comprehensive guidelines issued on December 26, 2025, cover error rectification, backlog mutations, public verification and final freezing of Jamabandis, with daily monitoring by divisional commissioners and the financial commissioner (Revenue).
Ramban district, Shopian district and Ganderbal district have achieved 100 per cent completion with no pendency.
Srinagar recorded 99.97 per cent completion with 2,58,135 approvals out of 2,58,221 khasras, while Budgam district achieved 99.96 per cent progress and Poonch district 99.95 per cent.
Udhampur district registered 99.73 per cent completion, followed by Kathua district at 99.25 per cent and Kupwara district at 99.13 per cent.
Samba district recorded 99.06 per cent completion, Rajouri district 98.79 per cent, and Baramulla district 98.70 per cent.
Bandipora district achieved 98.61 per cent progress, while Kulgam district recorded 98.58 per cent.
Kishtwar district registered 94.11 per cent completion, while Jammu district—with the highest number of khasras at 8,26,563—achieved 91.64 per cent with over 69,000 cases pending.
Lower progress was reported in Doda district at 84.58 per cent, Pulwama district at 80.54 per cent and Anantnag district at 74.65 per cent.
Reasi district recorded the lowest progress at 39.38 per cent, with over 88,000 cases pending.
Officials said 5,989 villages—87.87 per cent of the total—have been fully approved, while grievance collection has begun in 3,311 villages across the Union Territory. (Agencies)
