150 years of iconic band to be celebrated with concert

A BAND that has become an integral part of celebrations like Liberation Day and the Levée at Government House is due to celebrate its 150th anniversary in August.

The Band of the Island of Jersey – which is also being honoured with a set of commemorative stamps – will be playing at Howard Davis Park on Sunday 9 August, from 2.30 pm.

The concert will be followed by a marching display and beat retreat. Islanders are invited to come along with a picnic.
