Don Cossack Choir Serge Jaroff

Tallinn’s St John’s Church, Freedom Square 1

Wednesday, 7 October, from 7pm

The Don Cossack Choir arrives in Tallinn with one of choral music’s more remarkable backstories. Founded in 1920 near Istanbul by Cossack lieutenant Serge Jaroff, who had fled Bolshevik rule, the ensemble went on to make its Vienna Hofburg debut three years later and build an international reputation for its unmistakable sound and formidable vocal power.

The tradition was later revived by Wanja Hlibka, the youngest soloist of the original choir, who preserved Jaroff’s musical legacy while broadening its repertoire. Today, the ensemble is made up almost entirely of Ukrainian singers and mixes traditional Cossack songs with Ukrainian folk music, sacred works, Christmas repertoire and contemporary arrangements. Since 2023, a new generation has brought fresh energy to a century-old sound.

Atea Action 2026

Tallinn Cruise Terminal

Thursday 8 October, from 9.30am

How much should we trust AI, and what does that trust actually look like in practice? Atea Action: Trust in the AI Era tackles the question from the business end, bringing together technology experts, executives and innovation professionals to look at how artificial intelligence is already changing organisations.

The programme focuses on four big themes: putting AI to work in real businesses, combining human judgement with machine capability, responsible AI and cybersecurity, and building genuinely data-driven organisations. Expect keynote talks, case studies and discussions with an emphasis on what companies are actually doing, what is working and what they are learning along the way.

Poranguí: Serve the Music Tour

Kultuurikeskus Kaja, Tallinn

Friday 9 October, from 7pm

World-renowned musician, healer and educator Poranguí turns the concert format into something altogether more immersive. Performing entirely in the moment, he layers ancestral rhythms with original music created through improvisation, while co-facilitator Ashley Klein adds spoken guidance and live visual projections.

The idea is to blur the line between stage and audience, creating an experience shaped by the energy and attention in the room. Expect music designed to be felt as much as heard. The event is completely drug- and alcohol-free, and anyone arriving intoxicated will not be admitted.

Telliskivi English Comedy Showcase

Fonoteek, Tallinn

Saturday, 10 October, from 6pm

Tallinn’s comedy scene is going international. Fonoteek’s Telliskivi Komöödiaklubi is hosting its first English-language showcase, with five local comedians serving up an hour of sharp jokes, new material and suitably unpredictable stand-up.

It’s an easy pick for expats after a night out in English, but just as much for locals curious to see Tallinn comedy from a different angle. Bring friends, grab a drink and settle in. The show is recommended for ages 16 and over.

Brushy One String Live

Paavli Kultuurivabrik, Tallinn

Sunday, 11 October from 7pm

Jamaican one-string guitar virtuoso Brushy One String is bringing his unmistakable sound to Tallinn. Armed with a handmade guitar fitted with just a single string, he somehow conjures a full-blooded mix of reggae, folk and blues, powered by hypnotic rhythms, soulful vocals and a magnetic stage presence.

His unlikely signature style began after five of his guitar’s six strings broke. A dream later convinced him to stick with the remaining one, turning a musical accident into a career. The result is proof that, sometimes, less really is more.
