Don Cossack Choir Serge Jaroff
Tallinna Jaani kirik, Vabaduse 1, Tallinn
Wednesday, 07 October, from 7pm
Don Kosaken Choir brings one of the most extraordinary stories in choral music to the stage — a century-spanning journey that began in 1920 when Serge Jaroff, a Cossack lieutenant fleeing Bolshevik rule, founded the Don Cossack Choir near Istanbul. Three years later the ensemble debuted at the Vienna Hofburg, and what followed was decades of worldwide recognition built on a unique sound, exceptional musicianship, and a character that was immediately and unmistakably its own.
The choir’s tradition was carried forward by Wanja Hlibka, the youngest soloist of the original ensemble, who revived the collective in the 1980s and 1990s, preserving its singing traditions while expanding the repertoire and introducing contemporary colours. Since 2023 the ensemble has entered a new period of energy and renewal, attracting younger audiences while remaining rooted in Jaroff’s founding vision. The choir today consists almost entirely of Ukrainian singers, and its repertoire spans Jaroff’s traditional songs, Ukrainian folk music, sacred works, Christmas repertoire and contemporary arrangements.
Atea Action 2026
Tallinn Cruise Terminal
Thursday 08 October, from 9.30am
Atea Action: Trust in the AI Era has a central question, one that every organisation using artificial intelligence is already living with: how do you build and maintain trust in a technology that is reshaping how decisions get made and value gets created? The conference brings together technology experts, business leaders and innovation professionals across four themes — AI in real-world business implementation, the combination of human expertise and AI capability, responsible AI and cybersecurity, and the building of data-driven organisations fit for the future. The programme includes keynote presentations, practical case studies and discussions designed to move beyond the theoretical and into what organisations are actually doing and learning.
Poranguí: Serve the Music Tour
Kultuurikeskus Kaja, Tallinn
Friday 09 October, from 7pm
World-renowned musician, healer and educator Poranguí performs in pure improvisational flow state, channelling ancestral rhythms and original compositions as they emerge in real time, accompanied by co-facilitator Ashley Klein whose spoken guidance and live visual projections weave the experience into something that moves through the body as much as the ears. The boundary between performer and audience dissolves deliberately — every breath and every moment of attention in the room shapes what emerges. The event is completely drug- and alcohol-free, and entry while intoxicated will not be permitted.
