Daredevil: Born Again Star Woll on Overcoming Childhood Bullying and How It Shaped Her Life and Career
"I was bullied pretty terribly when I was a kid. Even to this day, so much of my identity and what I think of myself is formed by those kids," Woll said at the Daredevil: Born Again season two premiere in New York. "While I wish I was maybe farther along than I am, I do think about the fact that I do this job, that I put myself out there, that I'm a parent and a spouse. These are all things that maybe that 13 or 14-year-old kid wouldn't have believed was possible. There are continuing challenges and struggles, but I also feel like I've come a long way."
Ever since Woll was cast as Karen, she has turned the character from an initial victim into a powerful ally and the heart of the series, helping to round out the leads in Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock/Daredevil and becoming a source of empathy for Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle/Punisher. Not to mention, she's also had her share of verbal jabs at Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, who tried to have her killed. For more on Woll talking about how she tapped into her anxiety as a source of strength in her acting, you can check out the entire interview.
