PUMPKINHEAD 2 Trailer Awakens a New R.L. Stine Curse With Elvira Joining the Fun

R.L. Stine is bringing another Halloween nightmare to Redhaven, and this time Elvira is getting dragged into the supernatural trouble.

Tubi has released the trailer for R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, the sequel to its 2025 Halloween horror movie, revealing a new Pumpkinhead curse along with the film’s release date.

Based on a story by R.L. Stine, the sequel brings Sam (Bean Reid) and Becka (Adeline Lo) back to Redhaven, where another Pumpkinhead curse has awakened. The pair will have to figure out how to stop it before the entire town becomes its next victim.

Jem Garrard, who wrote and directed the first film, returns to handle both duties for the sequel. The big new addition is horror icon Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson, who plays a witch named Cassandra. Her character could hold the key to breaking the curse, which makes Peterson and Stine a pretty great Halloween pairing.

The original R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead premiered exclusively on Tubi on October 17, 2025. It was a feature adaptation of the episode of the same name from the TV series R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.

That movie followed Sam after his family moved to Redhaven. Things got much stranger when his brother Finn disappeared and, even worse, everyone except Sam suddenly forgot Finn had ever existed.

Sam teamed up with Becka and the eccentric Rusty to find his brother and break a harvest curse before Halloween came to an end.

The first movie leaned into kid-friendly gateway horror while still delivering some creepy imagery. Pumpkinhead 2 looks ready to send Sam and Becka straight back into Redhaven’s Halloween madness, only now they’ve got a new curse to deal with and Elvira joining the fun.

For fans of Stine’s brand of spooky horror, that’s a pretty fun reason to return to Redhaven.
