MAN OF TOMORROW Rumors Talk About Brainiac's Look, Lex Luthor's Action Scenes & James Gunn's Research On the Film

by · GeekTyrant

James Gunn is working diligently on the next chapter in his Superman saga, with all the perspective of the first film under his belt. Man of Tomorrow has officially wrapped production, and between the info that Gunn loves to tease fans with and the leaks and rumors that are pouring out from various sources, we can all get excited about the countdown to the film’s summer 2027 release.

A handful of rumors from Superman Saga News have been released (via CB) that claim some interesting story aspects for the sequel. The scooper said:

“Brainiac’s look is described by production members as ‘terrifying,’ with the appearance being able to convey a sense of fear to the general public.”

And regarding Lex Luthor, they stated that he’ll be getting “more action scenes than Superman, including a sequence at the beginning of the film where a shirtless Lex gets involved in a prison fight.”

Not only do we have the addition of Brainiac (Lars Eidinger) to the cast, but Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart, and Adria Arjona’s all but confirmed role as Wonder Woman will work to round out this already rock ensemble.

Superman Saga News also said that Gunn conducted in-depth research on Superman’s negative reviews to help this next story be the best version possible.

It’s been said that the film as a whole will have a more mature feel to it, drawing comparisons from industry insiders to Gunn’s highly praised Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Tying into that more mature vibe will likely be the scenes where Clark finds himself spending more time on the farm, helping Pa Kent (Pruitt Taylor Vince), who is now requiring a wheelchair.

I’m sure there’s plenty more news and rumors that will surface before we are through, but I’m just excited to see a trailer. Head back to GeekTyrant and we will update you with all the news that rolls out. Man of Tomorrow will be released on July 9, 2027.
