Shudder’s INFIRMARY Trailer Takes Found Footage Horror Inside an Abandoned Psych Hospital
by Joey Paur · GeekTyrantFew things make found footage horror hit harder than watching someone walk straight into a place they clearly shouldn't be. Shudder’s upcoming Infirmary takes that idea into an old psychiatric hospital, where a security guard’s first shift ends with his disappearance and some seriously disturbing bodycam footage.
Directed by Nicholas Pineda, the Shudder Original arrives October 2, giving horror fans a creepy new mystery to throw on the Halloween watchlist. The official synopsis reads:
“A guard vanished on his first night at an old psych hospital in 2023. His bodycam footage shows unexplainable incidents that continue to baffle investigators.”
Paul Syre, Mark Anthony Williams, and Danielle Kennedy star in Infirmary, which joins Shudder’s Season of Screams lineup for the Halloween season.
This year’s Season of Screams is a four-month horror celebration that continues through the holidays, with Shudder rolling out new movies, series, specials, screening events, and live watch parties on Shudder TV. New premieres are planned for every Friday through the end of the year.
There’s plenty coming for horror fans. The lineup includes Parasomnia, V/H/S/Mixtape, the latest installment in the V/H/S franchise, Infirmary, body horror thriller Bloody Tennis, supernatural nightmare The Cycle, and the Milly Shapiro-led Hallowarrior.
Shudder is also bringing back The Creep Tapes for another season, along with the 2026 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards and a new Halloween special, Joe Bob’s Halloween House Party.
Among all of that horror, Infirmary has a simple story that could make it an especially fun watch for found footage fans.
Infirmary premieres October 2 exclusively on Shudder.
