New Rumor Makes Surprising Claim About the Status of Brie Larson's Return in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY

A new rumor has surfaced about the return of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel in the upcoming event film Avengers: Doomsday.

Captain Marvel has been busily guarding the Universe since she came into play, so it was easy to assume that she would be returning for a battle as massive as Doomsday promises.

The actress herself has been coy about her return and her place in the story, but that’s expected of a Marvel employee ahead of a film as anticipated as this one.

However, industry insider Daniel Richtman claims (via SuperHeroHype) that she is currently not in the film. Richtman posted on X that Larson “is not in it currently,” adding that reshoots could still change her status. Marvel Studios has made no official announcement regarding Larson’s involvement in either upcoming Avengers film.

I would be surprised if she doesn’t at least appear in the movie. But either way, Marvel head Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers have undoubtedly thought through how each of the characters in the MCU fit into these upcoming stories, and we won’t go without at least an explanation.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
