Full Trailer for REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES Dives Deeper Into the Characters' Stories

by · GeekTyrant

A full trailer has been released for the feature film Remarkably Bright Creatures, starring Sally Field, Alfred Molina as the voice of the octopus, and Lewis Pullman. They are joined by Colm Meaney, Joan Chen, Kathy Baker, Beth Grant, and Sofia Black D’Elia.

The first trailer gave us an idea of the relationship between cleaning lady Tova (Field) and the octopus she cares for at the aquarium where she works. This trailer gives us more of Tova’s backstory, and a glimpse into the friendship she is beginning with Pullman’s character.

The film is directed by Olivia Newman (Where the Crawdads Sing, The Last Thing He Told Me) from a screenplay written by Olivia Newman and John Whittington, based on the book of the same name written by Shelby Van Pelt.

The synopsis reads: “A widow named Tova (Sally Field) who works at a local aquarium finds joy again when she forms an unlikely bond with a Giant Pacific Octopus named Marcellus (voiced by Alfred Molina) and a wayward young man who comes to town in search of family.

“Together, they will uncover a mystery that will lead them to a life-changing discovery & restore their sense of wonder.”

This looks so beautifully done. I have been waiting to read this book for a long time, but I’m up next on my library wait list, so I look forward to learning how this story unfolds with the characters already cast in my mind’s eye.

Check out the trailer below, and watch Remarkably Bright Creatures on Netflix on May 8th.
