Scarlett Johansson Looks Back and Praises AVENGERS: ENDGAME's Emotional Profoundness
by Jessica Fisher · GeekTyrantAcademy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson has ended her 11-year run in the MCU, but she looks back on her time in the role of Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow fondly. In a recent interview with Metro (via SuperHeroHype), Johansson talked about her particular love for the film Avengers: Endgame, and what makes it so special.
She explained, “I remember seeing it for the first time; I was so amazed at how emotional it was. It took all the history that we’ve had with those characters that we’d had for a decade of time and really delivered in a way for fans that was very profound.”
She went on to describe the film as “a movie that shouldn’t work, but it somehow works.” The actor also praised the film’s visuals, adding, “It’s a great film, and I loved making it.”
It was great to rewatch Avengers: Endgame in its recent re-release, and it’s true that it not only holds up, but is a profoundly moving film.
It’s too bad that Black Widow won’t be back to battle this time around with Avengers: Doomsday in December, but she made her mark, and her character’s sacrifice in the fight against Thanos will never be forgotten.
