THE FAKE ALCHEMIST Trailer Opens the Door to a Wild New Isekai Fantasy

by · GeekTyrant

The isekai genre isn’t exactly hurting for new anime, but The Fake Alchemist has a premise interesting enough to grab our attention. A new trailer for the anticipated fantasy anime has arrived, offering a good look at its world of magic, alchemy, gods, and one guy desperately trying to keep his ridiculously useful abilities under wraps.

Based on the ongoing manga written by Jiro Sugiura and illustrated by Umemaru, The Fake Alchemist started life as an indie series before growing into a hit with more than one million copies sold in Japan.

Despite that success, the manga hasn’t enjoyed the same level of recognition as many of the bigger isekai titles, so the anime could introduce Paracelsus and his strange adventure to a much larger audience.

The new trailer gives fans a taste of what’s coming while also introducing the anime’s characters, voice cast, and animation team.

The story unfolds in the city-state of Orichalconia, a place where magic and alchemy are woven into everyday life. At the center of it all is Paracelsus, a man transported to another world who discovers that survival might depend on keeping his cheat skills secret.

Things get considerably more complicated when he crosses paths with Nora, a shaman slave girl, and Coco, an elf who has lost all four limbs and her five senses. What begins with Paracelsus attempting to save Coco eventually grows into a much larger conflict involving alchemy, magic, space, and gods.

That escalation is a big part of what makes the story sound so fun. This isn’t simply another fantasy adventure about an overpowered hero collecting skills and cruising through another world.

The anime is being produced by Studio Passione, which has built its name around projects with devoted followings rather than massive worldwide franchises. Its previous work includes Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers, Mieruko-chan, and Citrus. The Fake Alchemist feels like the kind of offbeat fantasy material that could fit nicely into the studio’s catalog.

Of course, The Fake Alchemist is arriving during a period when audiences have no shortage of isekai to choose from. 2026 has been particularly busy for the genre, with Re -Starting Life in Another World- and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime continuing to hold onto their sizable audiences through multiple seasons.

There’s no official release window has been announced for The Fake Alchemist yet. With the new trailer now out, additional details could arrive before the end of 2026 or sometime in 2027.
