A new trailer has been released for the family adventure film The Magic Faraway Tree, starring Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Nonso Anozie, Nicola Coughlan, Jessica Gunning, Jennifer Saunders, and Rebecca Ferguson.

The movie is directed by Ben Gregor (All Stars, Fatherhood) from a screenplay written by Simon Farnaby, based on the beloved book series of the same name by Enid Blyton.

The synopsis reads: “The Magic Faraway Tree follows Polly (Claire Foy), Tim (Andrew Garfield) and three children: a modern family forced to relocate to the remote English countryside.

“As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents including treasured characters Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning) and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns).

“At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular and fantastical lands and, through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learn to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years.”

The trailers for this film haven’t sold me yet on this movie, despite the solid cast. It does look like a movie my kids would enjoy seeing though, so I’m willing to check it out.

Watch the trailer below, and catch The Magic Faraway Tree when it hits theaters on August 21st.
