EVIL DEAD BURN Green Band Trailer Drops Creepy New Footage and Brings Back an EVIL DEAD RISE Deadite

by · GeekTyrant

The Evil Dead franchise is back to stir up more nightmares, and this time the latest look at Evil Dead Burn trades some of the gore for story… but don’t get too comfortable.

The newly released green band trailer still delivers plenty of disturbing moments while teasing a deeper connection to the larger Evil Dead universe, including the return of a familiar Deadite from Evil Dead Rise.

Sony Pictures shared this toned-down version after the brutal red band trailer hit, and while it’s less graphic, it still isn’t pulling punches when it comes to unsettling imagery.

There’s fresh footage sprinkled throughout, giving fans a better sense of the story while keeping that signature chaotic horror energy intact. Moments like the fingers caught in a car door and a Deadite casually drinking candle wax are still here.

This new chapter of the story centers on Alice, played by Souheila Yacoub, who retreats to her in-laws’ secluded home following the sudden death of her husband. It doesn’t take long before things spiral into full-on supernatural madness.

The family’s grandfather has ties to the occult, and when Alice makes the terrible decision to read from the Necronomicon, she unleashes a wave of sadistic demons that turn grief into something far more horrifying.

One of the coolest surprises in the trailer is the return of Jessica, the Deadite introduced in Evil Dead Rise. Fans will remember her as the one who kicked off that film’s opening bloodbath at the lake.

Here, she’s back causing more chaos. The red band trailer shows her tormenting a guy on a boat, while this green band version reveals she’s tied to the car accident that kills Alice’s husband. It’s a slick way to connect the films and expand the franchise’s twisted mythology.

Director Sébastien Vaniček isn’t holding back when it comes to his vision for the film. He said, “I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested.

“I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”

The film is aiming to push the limits of what fans can handle. The film also stars Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, George Pullar, Maude Davey, and Greta Van Den Brink.

Vaniček co-wrote the script with Florent Bernard, while longtime franchise names Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are producing alongside executive producers including Bruce Campbell and Lee Cronin.

The story leans hard into emotional horror as Alice watches her family become possessed one by one, turning a mourning household into a nightmare scenario. The film teases a brutal idea that even death doesn’t free you from the promises you made in life, which feels perfectly on-brand for Evil Dead.

Evil Dead Burn hits theaters on July 10, 2026.
