Matt Reeves Continues To Confirm Cast Members For THE BATMAN: PART II
by Joey Paur · GeekTyrantThe Batman: Part II, director Matt Reeveshas flipped the bat signal on and started feeding fans a steady stream of casting updates. Now that filming is finally getting close, Reeves seems fully locked into reminding everyone that Gotham City is opening back up for business.
It kicked off with that snowy Batmobile image Reeves shared online, which immediately sent fans spiraling into theory mode. Then came a flood of cast confirmations over the course several hours, with Reeves personally revealing returning players from the first film one by one.
The returning lineup includes Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, Gil Perez-Abraham as Officer Martinez, and Jamie Lawson as Bella Real.
But Reeves clearly wasn’t finished. He went on to confirm that Scarlett Johansson has joined The Batman: Part II, finally validating reports that first surfaced back in December. Of course, Reeves stopped short of revealing who she’s actually playing, which means fans can keep throwing theories at the wall for a while longer.
He then announced casting the casting of Sebastian Stan, who is mostly likely playing Harvey Dent.
Later in the day, he announced that Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance is also joining the cast. News of Dance’s involvement only surfaced about a month ago, so seeing it officially confirmed this quickly definitely caught attention.
He also made the surprise reveal that Sebastian Koch, best known for The Lives of Others and Homeland, has boarded the film. Naturally, Reeves didn’t reveal who Koch is playing either, because mystery seems to be part of the marketing strategy now.
At this point, Reeves has confirmed nearly every major casting report fans have heard over the last several months. The biggest name still hanging in the air is Barry Keoghan, whose Joker appearance in The Batman left audiences wanting more.
Since Reeves keeps posting these cast GIF reveals one after another, fans are already wondering if Keoghan’s official confirmation is next.
The film is set to begin shooting soon and will hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
