AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Rumor Teases Doctor Doom’s Deadly MCU Rampage

A new rumor surrounding Avengers: Doomsdayclaims Victor von Doom could kill several characters during the film, giving Marvel fans another reason to worry about what Robert Downey Jr.’s new villain has planned.

If the latest claims are true, Doom could leave some serious damage behind, which I think we have all been expecting despite the latest rumor!

Insider MyTimeToShineHello recently shared a brief but ominous claim about Doom’s role in the movie, writing, “Doom is killing too many,” while discussing additional leaks connected to the film.

Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed any of this, so it should stay in rumor territory. Still, it fits with other reports suggesting Doom will be an incredibly lethal opponent when he finally collides with the MCU’s heroes.

One previous rumor claims Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes will fight Doom together during the movie’s final battle. According to that report, the longtime friends will take on Doom in a two-on-one fight, and things may end very badly for Bucky.

Marvel is obviously using Avengers: Doomsday to quickly establish Doom as a villain who can take out characters audiences have followed for years. That would certainly make him feel like a major threat heading into the next Avengers movie.

Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are returning to direct Avengers: Doomsday, with Stephen McFeely writing the screenplay.

The cast brings together a massive collection of Marvel characters, with Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Paul Rudd, and Florence Pugh among the stars appearing in the film.

Several actors from the X-Men franchise are also joining the action, giving Doom plenty of powerful characters to potentially clash with.

Of course, killing a bunch of heroes isn’t automatically what makes Doctor Doom such a dangerous Marvel villain. Doom has always been more interesting than a character who simply overpowers everyone in the room.

He’s intelligent, ruthless, resourceful, and convinced that he should be the guy controlling the board. Giving that kind of character the ability to actually eliminate major MCU heroes could make Downey’s Doom particularly nasty.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters December 18, 2026, with its story expected to continue in Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
