A Christmas-Obsessed Dad Turns Kidnapper in the Twisted RALPH’S PERFEKT CHRISTMAS Trailer
by Joey Paur · GeekTyrantChristmas movies usually bring families together, but the upcoming holiday horror comedy Ralph’s Perfekt Christmas takes a much more twisted approach to spreading Christmas cheer.
The first trailer introduces a holiday-obsessed family man whose desperate attempt to save his marriage somehow involves kidnapping a former child star. You know, just your typical Christmas miracle.
The film marks the feature debut of Next Chapter Entertainment and looks to deliver an entertaining mix of dark comedy, holiday chaos, and horror.
Tom McLaren (Expelled) stars as Ralph, a genuinely likable guy who loves Christmas a little too much. His obsession with creating the perfect holiday has pushed his wife to the brink of divorce, leaving Ralph desperate to put his family back together.
Unfortunately, his solution is completely insane. Convinced he can fix everything with one spectacular Christmas, Ralph decides to kidnap the former child star of his favorite holiday movie. It's a spectacularly terrible idea, and things only get worse as his plan falls apart and his dream Christmas turns into something increasingly disturbing.
The film features a fun collection of familiar faces, including Charlie Schlatter (Diagnosis Murder), Jill Schoelen (The Stepfather), Casey Burke (The Middle), and Landon Gimenez (Resurrection). It also marks the big-screen return of Lynda Day George, known for her work on Mission: Impossible and Roots.
The supporting cast includes several Hollywood veterans, with special appearances by Susan Blakely (The Towering Inferno), Marta Kristen (Lost in Space), Nicholle Tom (The Nanny), Trevor Lissauer (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Bill Mumy (Lost in Space), and Angela Cartwright (Lost in Space, The Sound of Music).
McLaren and Jeremy Padow wrote the screenplay from an original story by Padow, with Matthew Bellamy and Mary McLaren directing.
Schoelen previously offered a hint about just how crazy things get during an interview with Bloody Disgusting, teasing a surprising turn into horror territory. “Everything spirals to a point where it really has a quite wonderful horror twist to it, as it moves on down along the line.”
The project even inspired Schoelen to record her own Christmas album, and one of her original holiday songs appears in the movie.
Dan Fisher, vice president of acquisitions at Cineverse, explained why the movie fits the company's audience: “Ralph’s Perfekt Christmas is exactly the kind of smart, distinctive, genre-bending film that resonates with Cineverse and Screambox audiences.
“The film combines an original story with unexpected twists, turns, and a surprise ending coupled with a standout performance by Tom McLaren as Ralph that makes this film a ‘must watch’ for the holidays.”
Producer and co-director Mary McLaren also shared the kind of Christmas movie fans the filmmakers had in mind. “We’re excited to partner with the incredible Cineverse team to deliver Ralph’s Perfekt Christmas to a broad audience.
“We set out to target everyone who considers Die Hard a ‘Christmas Movie’ and Cineverse is an ideal distribution partner for reaching that audience seeking alternate holiday content.”
This isn't a movie about finding the true meaning of Christmas over a cup of hot cocoa. It's about a guy who takes his holiday obsession to criminal extremes, with increasingly horrific consequences.
Ralph’s Perfekt Christmas will receive a limited theatrical release on October 30, 2026, before arriving on digital platforms and Screambox on November 3, 2026. DVD and Blu-ray releases are planned for later in November.
