Hayden Christensen Addresses Rumors of a Darth Vader STAR WARS Movie

A Darth Vader solo movie withHayden Christensen back in the villainous role like the kind of Star Wars project fans could easily get excited about. Unfortunately, anyone hoping the recent rumors were pointing toward something real might want to temper those expectations.

Hayden Christensen recently addressed talk of a potential Darth Vader movie, and according to the actor, there’s nothing official happening right now.

During an interview with E! News, Christensen was asked directly about the rumored Vader project. His response was pretty straightforward: “Oh, I think those are just rumors.”

So, at least for now, there’s no confirmation that Lucasfilm is developing a standalone Darth Vader movie with Christensen. The good news is that Christensen is absolutely interested in playing the character again.

When asked if he would return should the opportunity come his way, he replied: “Of course, yeah, I would be thrilled to get to do that, but right now, those are just rumors.”

That’s probably not the answer fans hoping for a surprise Darth Vader announcement wanted to hear, but Christensen clearly is ready to return if asked. Of course, even if there was a Darth Vader project in developmnet, he wouldn’t be able to confirm it.

There have also been reports suggesting Christensen could appear in two future Star Wars projects, potentially as Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader, or both. What those projects might be remains unclear, and Christensen’s comments don’t confirm that anything beyond his already announced work is currently locked in.

What we do know is that he’ll return as Anakin in Ahsoka Season 2, which is currently expected to arrive in 2027.

Christensen’s history with Star Wars goes back more than two decades. He made his debut as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones in 2002 before completing Anakin’s transformation into Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

He later contributed a voice cameo to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019 before making his big live-action comeback opposite Ewan McGregor in Obi-Wan Kenobi. He followed that with his return as Anakin in Ahsoka.

For the moment, though, a Hayden Christensen-led Darth Vader movie belongs in rumor territory. Still, if Lucasfilm ever decides it wants to explore Vader in his prime with Christensen back in the role, they won’t have to work very hard to convince him, and the fans would show up to watch it!
