Robert Pattinson Reveals Why Making THE BATMAN: PART II Has Been So Much More Difficult Than the First Film

Robert Pattinson has had an insanely busy few years. After starring in last year’s films Mickey 17 and Die My Love, this year’s releases include The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime, and Dune: Part Three.

On top of promoting those blockbusters, Pattinson is spending the rest of 2026 in London, shooting Matt Reeves’ sequel The Batman: Part II. But it’s not just his crazy schedule that has the actor more exhausted than usual.

In a recent interview with GQ, when asked how production is going on the film, Pattinson said: “It’s good. I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot.

“I’m literally like, ‘Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.’ But it’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great. It’s got a really, really fun cast, but it’s a marathon.”

When asked about his jam-packed schedule, he went on: “Yeah, I’ve never done anything like this before. I’ve literally been going nonstop since after the actors’ and writers’ strikes.

“I was doing a movie with Adam McKay, which fell apart, and I ended up having a big period where I wasn’t working when I recalibrated what I wanted to do. Die My Love with [director] Lynne Ramsay, who I’ve always wanted to work with, came up.

“And it’s been a cascade of all these projects [since then]. I just changed my mindset, going, ‘I don’t care about doing big movies or leads. I’m just going to do stuff I find interesting.’ And then somehow, I don’t understand how the scheduling actually even worked out, because I literally left Die My Love and flew to The Drama.

“I finished that and flew to Primetime basically the same day. I was kind of producing [Primetime] as well. We were prepping four films at the same time. But I think it’s worked out. At the end of this, I’m definitely taking a vacation.”

He definitely deserves it! That schedule is enough to exhaust anyone, but I can attest to the fact that anything you used to be able to do is made so much more difficult after turning 40.

I have loved so many of Pattinson’s movie projects, as he seems to gravitate toward interesting and unusual stories, and I am really looking forward to the films he has coming up.

Primetime, in which Pattinson plays “To Catch A Predator” host Chris Hansen, is set to be released on September 25th; Dune: Part Three hits theatres on December 18th; the crime thriller Here Comes the Flood is in post-production and is expected to be released sometime in 2027; and The Batman: Part II will be released on February 18, 2028.
