Anthony Russo Says the Full AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Cast Still Hasn’t Been Revealed

The cast of Avengers: Doomsday is already pretty big, but Marvel apparently still has a few names waiting to be revealed. In fact, Anthony Russo admits there are so many actors involved that even he can’t remember which ones have officially been announced.

With less than three months until the film arrives in theaters, Anthony revealed during a post-Avengers: Endgame Encore screening Q&A that Marvel still hasn’t revealed everyone appearing in the movie.

"The cast is so large, and we've announced some of the cast, and we haven't announced some of the cast," said Russo. "I get confused myself over who we've announced and not announced, so I have to just slow down."

I guess considering how many Marvel characters are already involved, that we know of, it’s understandable that he would question himself in regards to who has been announced and who hasen’t.

The main cast were unveiled during Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday livestream, which slowly revealed cast members through names printed on the backs of director’s chairs.

Marvel later added another returning character during its San Diego Comic-Con 2026 panel, confirming Hayley Atwell will be back as Peggy Carter. Her return certainly fits with Steve Rogers being part of the movie, especially since Avengers: Endgame ended his story by sending him into the past to live his life with Peggy.

Even with all those characters in play, Anthony says the Russos are still actively finishing the movie. "Joe and I are still very deep in the process of finishing Doomsday. We always say we're not done with a movie until they pry it out of our cold, dead hands," added Anthony Russo.

"So, it's a very iterative process for us... from the time of conception all the way to final delivery of the film. So it is alive, and we're still working with it."

Some other new additions were revealed through extra footage attached to Avengers Endgame: Encore, officially confirming several MCU veterans for the upcoming Avengers movie. Among them is Mark Ruffalo, who will return as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, along with some key players from the TVA.

Now we can officially also add Owen Wilson, Ke Huy Quan, Eugene Cordero, and Tara Strong to the mix. The big question now is who Marvel still hasn’t announced.

At this point, Marvel has already revealed enough characters to make Doomsday feel massive, and apparently we still don’t have the whole picture. Anthony Russo just needs to carry around a cheat sheet to remember which actors Marvel has announced.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters December 18.
