A trailer has been released for the film Late Fame, starring Willem Dafoe, Greta Lee and Edmund Donovan.

The film, which is written and directed by Kent Jones (Diane) from a novella by Arthur Schnitzler, debuted at the Venice Film Festival, and has received a ton of Oscar buzz, especially surrounding the performance of four-time nominee Dafoe, who plays aging poet Ed Saxberger.

The film’s synopsis reads: “After an eager and flattering young admirer (Edmund Donovan) appears on his doorstep, Saxberger is beckoned into a coterie of twentysomething admirers who anoint him as a rediscovered genius.

“Intoxicated by the attention — and by the alluring presence of Gloria, the group’s ‘tragic heroine’ (a sinuous, Kurt Weill-crooning Greta Lee) — Saxberger gradually reckons with the authenticity of his newfound poetic circle.”

This looks like a solid story full of great performances from the whole cast. Check out the trailer below, and watch Late Fame in select theaters this August.
