SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Featurette Teases Massive Practical Action and We Have a New Poster

by · GeekTyrant

Sony Pictures has released a new featurette for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the studio is going all in on practical stunt work and large-scale action for Peter Parker’s next adventure. They also unveiled a slick new poster to keep the hype train moving.

The featurette centers on the movie’s “Practical Production,” giving fans a peek at how much of the action is being pulled off physically on set instead of relying entirely on CGI. There are exploding cars, real stunt work, practical web-swinging setups, and even a quick at The Scorpion joining the chaos.

One moment that’s already getting fans talking happens when Spider-Man gets slammed into the front of a truck. Peter is wearing a puffer vest jacket and hat that look incredibly similar to the winter outfit worn by Andrew Garfield’s Spidey in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Maybe it’s just coincidence, maybe it’s a fun visual callback, but longtime Spider-Man fans are definitely going to catch it.

Tom Holland sounds especially excited about what they’ve been pulling off on set, saying: “This is some of the best action that we've had in any of these movies.

“We've shot the most stunts on the day in camera. Putting Spider-Man on the street with cars exploding. It's just so awesome. It's going to allow the audience to be part of the experience.”

Director Destin Daniel Crettonalso talked about the now-famous tank sequence that fans have already seen in leaked set photos and videos. According to him, that sequence kicks the movie off in a huge way.

“One of the results of that was that we were seeing thousands of people showing up to watch us work. It was a really lovely reminder to us how much this movie means to a lot of people in the world.”

Cretton also described the sequence as “exhilarating,” which honestly tracks with everything we’ve seen so far.

There’s also growing talk that a full trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is arriving very soon. Current rumors suggest it could be attached to The Mandalorian and Grogu when that hits theaters, though nothing official has been confirmed yet.

Story details reveal that four years have passed since the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker is now fully on his own after wiping himself from the memories of everyone he loves. With nobody remembering who he is, Peter has devoted himself completely to being Spider-Man in a New York City that no longer knows his name.

But keeping the city safe starts taking a serious toll on him. As the pressure mounts, Peter experiences a strange physical change that threatens his existence just as a dangerous new crime wave rises across the city, bringing him face-to-face with one of the deadliest threats he’s ever encountered.

The cast for Spider-Man: Brand New Day includes Tom Holland,Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
