Johnny Depp's EBENEZER Hates Halloween as Much as Christmas in New Promo For the Holiday Film

by · GeekTyrant

A funny new promo has been released for the Christmas movie Ebenezer, starring Johnny Depp in the title role of Ebenezer Scrooge. The film is based on Charles Dickens' 1843 classic novella, “A Christmas Carol.”

Depp is joined in the cast by Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Charlie Murphy, Tramell Tillman, and Ian McKellen, who takes on the fitting role of Jacob Marley.

The film is directed by Ti West from a script directed by Nathaniel Halpern. The tagline for this new take on the classic tale reads, "The name you know, the story you don't." Set in Dickens' London, the story follows Scrooge through his unforgettable supernatural journey as he's forced to confront the ghosts of his past, present, and future while fighting for one final chance at redemption.

In a new promo for the film, announcing that tickets are now on sale for the film, we see Ebenezer opening his door to trick-or-treaters, who he heckles and tricks in his miserly and grumpy way. This is a fun holiday crossover that works this week as we celebrate Halloween.

The last set of kid at the door end up with a pretty funny reception. Check out the video below, and watch Ebenezer in theatres on November 13, 2026.
