Dolly Parton and Kermit the Frog Perform a Delightful Duet of “Everyday People”

Some musical pairings just make the world a slightly better place. The lateDolly Partonand Kermit the Frog singing together definitely qualifies.

Back in 1987, Parton welcomed the beloved Muppet onto her ABC variety series Dolly, where the two performed a wonderfully charming duet of Sly and the Family Stone’s classic song “Everyday People.”

The song celebrates diversity, acceptance, and people finding common ground despite their differences, which works especially well when one performer is a country music icon and the other is a banjo-playing frog.

The performance has all the colorful personality you’d expect from late-’80s television. The YouTube uploader described the extended version:
