A lovely trailer has been released for the new feature take on Sense and Sensibility, featuring the impressive cast of Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles, as well as Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Caitríona Balfe, George MacKay, Frank Dillane, Herbert Nordrum, and Fiona Shaw.

This adaptation is directed by Georgia Oakley (Blue Jean) from a screenplay written by Diana Reid, based on Jane Austen's novel originally published in 1811.

The synopsis reads: “Sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood must leave their Sussex estate and move in with a distant relative, facing romance & money troubles. Set in Georgian era England, Jane Austen's classic follows wealthy Mr. Dashwood who dies leaving his second wife and three daughters in rather poor shape. The ladies move to a modest cottage where the two older daughters vie for the attention of various suitors in search of true love.”

This looks like a truly joyous and delightful movie. Despite it being based on a story that’s over two hundred years old, this retelling feels beautifully personal for anyone celebrating a sister relationship or falling in love.

Check out the trailer below, and watch Sense and Sensibility in US theaters on October 16th.
