Spider-Man and The Punisher Will Reportedly Fight Mind Controlled DODC Agents in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY
by Joey Paur · GeekTyrantWhen it comes to Spider Man: Brand New Day, Marvel Studios has kept the story tightly sealed, but a new report suggest we might see a high stakes showdown featuring Spider Man and The Punisher battling a swarm of controlled DODC agents.
We already know the film brings together an unexpected lineup that includes The Hulk, The Punisher, The Scorpion, and Tombstone, with Sadie Sink also involved in a still unknown role. It’s going to be interesting to see how these characters are incorporated into the story.
Now, a new rumor from scooper Daniel Richtman, Marvel has already filmed a sequence where Spider Man and Frank Castle unite in a fight against Department of Damage Control agents who have been placed under mind control.
The agents are reportedly trying to break The Scorpion out of prison, raising the stakes for everyone involved and opening the door to some dangerous fallout.
What’s missing from the puzzle is who’s pulling the strings. There has been speculation about a mysterious female antagonist, though the film’s title has many fans leaning toward Mister Negative.
Given his deep ties to the era of comics referenced, he fits the bill, but keeping an actor of that significance under wraps would be surprising. Then again, reports of ninja filled fight scenes hint that someone with strong ties to the criminal underworld might be orchestrating things from the shadows.
Spider Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, returning to Marvel after Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with franchise veterans Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers once again handling the script.
Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker alongside Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, Marvin Jones III, Jacob Batalon, and Liza Colón Zayas. Florence Pugh is also expected to return as Yelena Belova following her role in Thunderbolts.
With new characters, returning threats, and now a rumored team up between Spider Man and The Punisher against a corrupted government force, this movie is stacking up to deliver something fresh for fans craving a shakeup in the Spider Man corner of the MCU.
Spider Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31, 2026.
