Tom Daley tipped for Celebrity Traitors appearance
by Lorna Hughes · PlymouthLivePlymouth's Tom Daley is being hotly tipped for a spot in the celebrity version of BBC hit The Traitors. Experts reckon the now-retired diver will take the plunge and join a host of famous faces in the Scottish Highlands.
The tense game show sees people try to identify who among them are “Faithfuls” and “Traitors” - with the action overseen by Claudia Winkleman. A celebrity version was announced earlier this year after millions tuned in to watch series two in January.
A gripping final episode saw British Army engineer Harry Clark take home the whole £95,150 prize pot after he deceived model Mollie Pearce into thinking he was a fellow Faithful when he was really a Traitor.
Online betting guide OLBG has released its latest tips and predicted odds for the celebrity version, with Tom leading the way. An insider recently told the Sun Tom was in final talks, saying: "Tom knows it will be hugely fun to film. He’ll make a great player too, as no one would suspect misdeeds from such a baby-faced lad.”
The third series of The Traitors finished filming in the summer, with the celebrity version due to be filmed early next year, according to reports.
Mike Cotton, creative director unscripted at Studio Lambert and executive producer for The Traitors, said in August when the celebrity version was announced: “We are thrilled to be inviting some celebrities into our castle to come and play the game. Seeing famous faces navigate the round table or don the infamous green cloaks will be unmissable TV, and what a double treat for the fans with series four also confirmed too.
“There’s a whole lot of exciting treachery and deception yet to come from the Highlands… Claudia’s going to have to pack some extra knitwear."

OLBG says bookmakers currently aren't taking bets on the show, so the odds have been compiled as "theoretical probability" from an entertainment perspective only and come from an industry expert.
Jake Ashton, entertainment betting expert at OLBG, said: “Olympian Tom Daley leads the latest odds to appear in Celebrity Traitors with his name one of a few that The Sun claims will be heading into the famous Scottish Highlands castle. Further big names that feature in the market include Courteney Cox and Piers Morgan with the BBC expected to go all out for the new series."
