by Zasha Whiteway-Wilkinson, Zita Whalley · PlymouthLiveStephen Mulhern experienced a frightening medical emergency when he collapsed at Pizza Express, leaving onlookers shocked. The incident occurred in Sunningdale, Berkshire, as the TV personality enjoyed a meal and a drink.
It's believed Deal or No Deal host Mulhern had an adverse reaction to anaesthetic from a procedure earlier that day. Witnesses say the situation escalated near 8pm on Wednesday, November 27, prompting concerned staff to call for medical assistance, reports the Daily Star.
The 'You Bet!' presenter, who is 47, has been dealing with the recent loss of his father, a matter which has deeply affected him. A source divulged to The Sun: "Stephen has been going through an incredibly tough time of late. He is grieving the loss of his dad to whom he was so, so close. He's also been battling several well-documented health problems, and on Wednesday morning had a procedure requiring a local anaesthetic."

"He took himself off for a quiet, solo dinner that evening, had a few drinks and just reacted incredibly badly. He's only human, and his dad's death has hit him hard."
"Stephen immediately felt unwell and concerned staff came over, and called 999. Paramedics checked him over and took him to hospital as a precaution. He was also put on the phone to his mum to reassure her that he was OK."
The source mentioned that Stephen Mulhern is now recuperating at home but is left feeling 'mortified' about the turn of events at the restaurant.
After the tragic loss of his dear father last month, Stephen withdrew from commitments with Butlin's holiday parks. It is believed that he is receiving support from his team, including his friend and co-host on You Bet!, Holly Willoughby.
The popular TV personality, once the youngest member of the Magic Circle, credits his magic skills to his father, who introduced him to tricks while working at his market stall.
