Nollywood actress Maureen Okpoko has opened up about her battle with blindness, revealing that she has been visually challenged for the past four years.

Okpoko made the appeal in a recent video, where she called on bloggers, colleagues, friends and members of the public to come to her aid.

According to the actress, she needs financial support for further medical intervention while also appealing for prayers and words of encouragement.

“I have been visually challenged for four years. Please, I am seeking your financial assistance for further medical intervention. Tunde Ednut, VDM, bloggers, colleagues and friends, please come to my aid.

“Your prayers, contributions and words of encouragement will be highly appreciated,” she said.

Her appeal comes shortly after veteran Nigerian actor and musician Harry B. Anyanwu called on Nollywood actors, actresses and members of the public to support his colleague.

In a recent video making the rounds online, Anyanwu urged members of the Nigerian film industry and the public to rally around Okpoko and assist her in accessing the treatment she needs.

Anyanwu, who disclosed that he was with Okpoko in Enugu, described her as a dear colleague and appealed for support to help her regain her sight.
