Hollywood legend, Rob Reiner, wife found dead in suspected homicide

Legendary Hollywood filmmaker and actor, Rob Reiner, alongside his wife Michele Reiner, have died, the family confirmed in a brief statement, describing the loss as heartbreaking.

Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department, LAPD, have dispatched homicide detectives to the Reiners’ residence, investigating the deaths as an apparent homicide.

A law enforcement source told CNN that investigators had interviewed a family member on Sunday evening as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Rob Reiner, 78, was a highly respected figure in American film and television, known for directing classics such as When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, and A Few Good Men.

He first rose to prominence as Archie Bunker’s son-in-law on the iconic TV show All in the Family.

The Screen Actors Guild, SAG, paid tribute to Reiner, calling him “one of the most significant figures in the history of film and television.”

Union president Sean Astin highlighted Reiner’s nearly six-decade-long membership and noted that his films had left a lasting impact on American culture, evoking laughter, emotion, and reflection.

Michele Singer Reiner, 67, also had an accomplished career in Hollywood as a producer, actor, and photographer.

She collaborated with her husband on multiple projects, including producing Shock and Awe and Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, which was released earlier this year.

She acted in Nora Ephron’s Mixed Nuts and worked as a photographer on films including Misery.

Singer Reiner earned an Emmy nomination for producing the documentary Albert Brooks: Defending My Life and produced God and Country, a documentary examining Christian nationalism in the United States.

Police have confirmed that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the couple’s deaths is ongoing.
