by Olanrewaju Rasheedat · Daily PostNigerian comedian and actor, Bovi, has revealed that his son broke at least three television sets while growing up, but he chose not to beat him.
Bovi disclosed this during an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast while discussing how he handled his children.
According to him, his son would throw things and break them whenever he became angry.
Bovi said he decided to observe his son’s behaviour and wait until he became old enough to understand his actions and show remorse.

“I don’t advocate for beating children. You should let children be. My son dey break television for the fun of it. If he’s angry, he will throw stuff and break,” Bovi said.
He said his son eventually became remorseful, adding that he had broken three TVs by that time.
“He got to the age where he got to, and I saw the remorse. At least he broke three TVs. Thank God for capacity. If I couldn’t afford another TV, then the approach would have been totally different,” he added.
Bovi also questioned whether some parents beat their children to correct them or because they are frustrated.
He said, “That’s why I tell people, most times when we hit kids, check: are you really trying to correct them, or you’re frustrated?”
